Nice to see England playing for their manager.

Did everyone see that Lampard, Rio and Gerrard interview about the golden generation? Club before country and not too complimentary about Sven. Cunts.

Re: England v Croatia
It’s been a strange competition (though enjoyable) although some of that is down to being in the same year as a World Cup.
Would have been good odds of Germany, Spain, Italy & France (maybe) not making the semis

Belgium only needed to draw so being 2-0 up and not achieving that is catastrophic
No Lukaku or the injured DeBruyne but that’s a major cock up by Martinez not to be able to close that out.
It’s a very winnable tournament now
Even if it is the League Cup of world football

Re: England v Croatia
If Holland avoid defeat tonight, they're having a lazarus type comeback after a few utterly shit years.

And have to hand it to Southgate. By treating them all like adults and putting the fun back into playing for England, he's reaping the benefits.

Nice having a team actually playing good football and seems like a long time ago where the squad was so split, players from different teams wouldn't mix with each other.

Belgium were 2-0 up inside 20 mins plus had Hazard & his brother playing

German manager must be close to the sack tonight

I'm a massive fan of this England side under Southgate.

Re: England v Croatia
went with my kids - they loved it BUT

- Fucking long walk to seats miles away from the pitch
- half an half scarfs for £20
- huge queuss for a pint
- 50 minutes to get on the tube afterwards with stop/start signs
- Atmosphere did get going when we scored but largely created by tannoy (playing 3-Lions)

Felt right at home

Re: England v Croatia
Martinez has put his stamp on the Belgium defence rather as he did at Everton.

Re: England v Croatia
Switzerland 5 Belgium 2 FMOB

Didn't see that happening.

Re: England v Croatia
An improvement would be getting the ball in the net more when we are dominating rather than when fighting back. We did it out in Spain and built up a 3-0 lead so it can be done.

Re: England v Croatia
One of the few things that would improve the England team at the moment is a Raheem Sterling with a brain, or failing that some football sense.

DaveT 11:55 Mon Nov 19
Re: England v Croatia
Thought the pitch was poor. Commentator asked why England weren't shooting more but noticed that the ball bobbled a lot which made them not so confident about doing it.
Reckon that is a taster if they allowed it to be sold to the NFL bloke.

Thing is with Sterling is his pace gets him into those positions in the first place and we have no one else in the squad to do better with those chances he makes for himself.I'm hoping in the next World Cup if we qualify and he's picked he has one of those W/C where everything just clicks like Paulo Rossi did.

All the FA need to do now is get rid of those twats from Sheffield along with their fucking trumpets and I'll start enjoying watching England again.

Re: England v Croatia
Enjoyed that, far better than meaningless friendlies. Just need to improve in front of goal because we could have been out of site first half. Sterling's a very good player but just lacks that decision making and finishing at times and Kane wasn't at his best but does what strikers do when they have quiet games and stuck in the winner.

Re: England v Croatia
Quite good this nations league thing. Can only be good for a group of players like ours. A rare good idea from the twats that run football.

Does seem a far better setup that pointless friendlies with no one trying.

Pagey 6:26 Sun Nov 18
Re: England v Croatia
Sterling had a decent World Cup. He was just lacking the goals that his play deserved.

Pagey 6:25 Sun Nov 18
Re: England v Croatia
Kane was ‘absolutely useless’ with half hour to go apparently.

An assist and a goal later and we're heading to Portugal next summer.

Passerby66 6:24 Sun Nov 18
Re: England v Croatia
Anyone who doesn't see what Sterling brings to a team with his runs into space (even when he is not playing well) knows fuck all about football.

Too many people jump on the bandwagon of wanting a scapegoat and making every attacking player shit if he does not score a goal a game.

Sterling has consistently been one of England's best players for a season now - including in the world cup.
